As Managing Member at 1839 Ventures, Chris calls on his professional background in sales, operations, and management. He is a successful entrepreneur, business owner and proven leader with the ability to turn thoughts into action and motivate others to implement those ideas.
Chris maintains a diverse viewpoint in assessing potential investments, informed by his various roles in a broad range of companies. This includes Data Junction, Dell, Hoover’s (a subsidiary of Dun and Bradstreet), International Business Research Center (Founder), Tech Ranch Austin (Director of Operations), DC Venture Services (Founder), and now 1839 Ventures (Founder / Investment Advisor) and the 1839 Venture Funds (Founder / Managing Member).
As the Director of Operations for Tech Ranch Austin and later founder at DC Venture Services, Chris has assisted, consulted with, and mentored countless startup companies. Many have gone on to raise funding successfully through various sources of capital including commercial financing, Angel investors, and venture capital.
In 2015, Chris obtained his Series 65, after which he founded and registered 1839 Ventures as an Exempt Reporting Investment Advisory Firm in the State of Texas. He currently acts as advisor and fund manager to the 1839 Venture Funds, which invest in promising early-stage and growth-stage companies.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a Concentration in International Business from Stephen F. Austin State University.
